Oilpainting “Bubbles” is all about…bubbles! And how to paint your husband! 

It was Covid-time in 2020. John and Paul just moved to Apt, near Aix en Proveence, and two days later whole France got in Lock Down. John and Paul wanted to make a new start after working more than 16 years in the Touristic business. “We’re gone do it totally differant, now it’s time for us!”John wanted to look for a job from nine to five in a bar or restaurant and Paul had the idea of opening a Gallery for his Artworks! But as we said, Covid-time! So, as ussual they started again renovating the “new” house, what wasn’t the idea in advance. 

After more than a year John knew that it was not the time to look for a job in a restaurant, when your over 60! Paul knew it was not the time to start a gallery, just in and after Covid time. So Paul and John renovated more  and Paul…started other new ideas, like his YouTube channel and…more painting. No models to find, he asked John to lay on the floor, took some photos and… was also bussy with “How to paint bubbles and waterdrops?”

Now,

it’s a usual for Paul to do thousand things at the same time, so he painted his Gay-boyfriend with some Bubbles around him. As usual a stroke red here, a tip green there… finished! In the mean time their life in Apt was also finished. The house was more than well renovated, doubled in price and..the rest is history; they moved to Spain for their “New live!”

Still today this Oilpainting “Bubbles” is hanging in the centre of their new house on the mountain, what they also renovated, as usual. At this moment (October 2024) John is fixing/renovating  two rooms down-stairs (The series paintings made in Apt is called Down-Under). And guess what? Paul has soon his own litlle gallery…in two rooms Down under! Never a dull moment in thei lives!
