Welcome to the official blog of X-Artwear Menswear—your destination for Artwear, Wearable Art, or as some might even call it, Gaywear. But what exactly does that mean? Are we just selling men’s clothing with gay-themed prints? Absolutely not!

I’m Paul Harmsen,

a gay artist, and X-Artwear Menswear is my platform where I showcase and sell my unique Artwear creations online. I paint, I draw, I create—in short, I make art.

After more than 30 years of dedicating myself to my artwork, which you can explore in the gallery on my website (currently featuring Oil Paintings, with Drawings and Multimedia pieces coming soon), I found myself inspired with new ideas about three years ago:

• “Why should art be confined to museums, traffic squares, or walls?”
• “Why must paintings and drawings always be on canvas or paper?”
• “Why not create art for everyone, not just those who can afford it?”
• “Could Gay Art be for everyone?”

With these questions in mind, I decided to venture into a new realm and launched my menswear collection, “X-Artwear Menswear.” I thought, “Let’s see what happens.” It was easier said than done—starting a business is challenging, especially when you’re dealing with “Gay Art.”

Three years later, I’ve learned a lot. I’ve mastered the art of printing on clothing, delved into the world of marketing, and most importantly, I’ve learned to find happiness in the process. My philosophy has become, “If I like it, there’s always someone else in the world who will likes it too.” I just didn’t realize that finding those people could be more complicated than expected.

X-Artwear

isn’t just a business—it’s a platform to share ideas, art, and the vision of a gay artist. Phrases like “Art for everybody,” “Art for every body!” “Dare to wear,” and “Be proud of who you are and show it to the world” may not have the iconic status of the rainbow flag, but they capture my feelings as a Gay Artist wanting to share my creations with the world.

With new Artwear added weekly to X-Artwear Menswear, there’s always something fresh to discover—and wear! In this blog, I’ll share the stories behind my art, the Artwear I create, what Artwear means (and what it should be in my vision), behind-the-scenes looks at our latest photoshoots and videos, the challenges of running a business, and so much more. I have plenty to tell you!
